Celebrate ‘Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later’ w/ Craig Wedren

wham-10-years-later

The gang from Camp Firewood are back together for Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, for eight episodes set in 1991 when fashion was at a nadir, mobile phones were still a novelty, grunge was on the rise, and George Bush, Sr was president. Bradley Cooper is sadly not part of this one — scheduling conflicts — but pretty much whole rest of the cast is back, including Elizabeth Banks, Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, Chris Pine, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Ian Black, and Chris Meloni. New to this one is Adam Scott, Alyssa “Teen Steam” Milano, Dax Sheppard and others. Check out the trailer below, and the show drops August 4 on Netflix.

Also back with Ten Years Later is former Shudder to Think frontman Craig Wedren, who did the music for the original WHAS movie and 2015’s Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. He also scored upcoming Netflix movie A Futile & Stupid Gesture which is about National Lampoon founder Doug Kenny which stars Will Forte and is directed by David Wain (who directed Wet Hot American Summer). Wedren stays busy in the soundtrack world, having also done ’80s-appropriate music for Netflix’s fun women’s wrestling series GLOW, as well as the scores for Search Party, Fresh Off the Boat and Powerless. He also collaborated with Jherek Bischoff on the score to Sara Lamm’s upcoming documentary Thank You for Coming (about her search to find the sperm donor who is her “scientific father”). You can watch the trailer for that below as well.

Folks in NYC can catch Craig, just a few days after WHAS premieres, playing one of his live Sabbath Sessions — “live spontaneous vocal looping meditations” — on August 7 at Ops Pizza in Bushwick which is free and at 8 PM. Flyer for that show, and a video of a previous Sabbath Session, are below.
