Chance made a video with Jamila Woods, doing a talk in Chicago (like Solange & Vince Staples)

Chicago neo-soul singer Jamila Woods has been touring all year in support of last year’s HEAVN (which is getting a physical release on Jagjaguwar on October 6). She recently played NYC festival Panorama and then played a hometown show at the new House of Vans Chicago on Monday (8/14).

The show was a release party for Jamila and Chance the Rapper‘s new video for “LSD,” directed by Sam Bailey and Vincent Martell. The show also featured oddCouple and Kaina. Check out pictures in the gallery above and watch the video, along with a making-of video, below.

Speaking of Chance the Rapper and Chicago, the hometown hero is one of three artists taking part in Pitchfork’s upcoming “In Sight Out” events in Chicago. (They recently did one with Tori Amos in Brooklyn.) Chance will be in conversation with Pitchfork’s Adrienne Samuels Gibbs on November 17 at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art. The series also includes Solange in discussion with Britt Julious (who, among other things, wrote a must-read review of Beyonce’s “Formation” for Pitchfork) on 9/13, and Vince Staples will be in conversation with Pitchfork managing editor Matthew Schnipper on 10/13. You can get tickets for all three talks here.
