Cherubs giving vinyl reissue to 'Short of Popular' (stream the remastered LP)

Austin noise rock vets Cherubs were initially around for just a few years in the early ’90s, but they reunited in 2014, released the new album 2 YNFYNYTY the following year, and have been playing shows since (we caught them with Unsane last year). Now they’re putting out the first-ever vinyl reissue of their 1996 outtakes/b-sides compilation Short Of Popular, which came out after they broke up. The album has been remastered, and it comes with new artwork made by guitarist Kevin Whitley and three-colored vinyl. It comes out this Friday (10/12) via Sonic Surgery Records, who say:

Some selections from the original compact disc release have been removed to improve the overall energy and live within the constraints of the vinyl format. The over all sound has a fuller and warmer feel without losing the cutting impact of the Cherubs style of music. Sonic Surgery Records is honored to bring back this amazing collection of Cherubs magic and share it with the whole wide world. Play it loud it will never be as loud as the actual band!

You can pre-order the album here and listen to a stream of the remastered LP below.
