Hooded gods of sleazy rock n' roll, Midnight, headlined Reggie's on April 27th with help from Indianapolis doom greats The Gates of Slumber, Scythe featuring Rick of the great Usurper, and traditional doomers Stone Magnum. As to be expected, Midnight's set was punctuated with a rough and raucous crowd response, inciting stage dives, circle pits, and fist-pumps in the most un-Pauly-D-way imaginable. The Midnight appearance, much like every show they do, was rare for the band, and their first since releasing the year-end favorite Satanic Royalty.
The Gates of Slumber appearance was part of a weekend of shows with Midnight, with the two blessing St. Louis and Gates' hometown on Sunday 4/29. TGoS's set at Reggie's was a blend of all of their recorded output, encompassing material from across The Wretch, Hymns Of Blood & Thunder, and Conqueror. The band will head out for a string of dates with Church of Misery in the coming weeks.
