Tame Impala at Metro on 11.13.2012

On Tuesday night (11/13) Tame Impala brought their tour with Stockholm, Sweden's The Amazing through Chicago to play a sold-out show-- an on-going theme for the tour-- at Metro. Their headlining set consisted of an even mix of songs from Innerspeaker and the new Lonerism. The crowd really went nuts for their newer material, like the tight groove of "Elephant" and airy ballad "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards," which were performed back-to-back in the middle of their set. At times, the guitar tones became a bit muddy, due to the mass of effects pedals used, but overall they sounded great. Were you there? What did you think?

I think the venue was over-sold

Very possibly, it seemed to be oversold for DFA1979 at Lolla 2011 and I wouldn't doubt they do it regularly

It should be noted that if you are going to call your band, "The Amazing", it is nothing but irony, when your music is everything but amazing.
