The Soft Moon @ Empty Bottle on 1.12.2013
After a short tour of Europe in December, The Soft Moon finally made their way back to the US for a series of shows. The goth tinged post punkers are on tour promoting their sophomore album Zeros, which hit stores in October of 2012 via Captured Tracks. The band played a sold-out show at the Empty Bottle on Saturday night (1/12) alongside Majical Cloudz and locals Pillars and Tongues.
Frontman Luis Vasquez and co. began to set up their equipment around midnight, and played an awesomely dark set that began with the attention grabbing "Die Life." The song kicked off with a loud analog synth note that played over and over as the band locked and loaded. Before the note could become repetitive, The Soft Moon blasted alongside it with everything in their arsenal: drums, bass, guitar, and Luis's trademark reverbed yowl. The band played a good chunk of their new album, as well as some oldies.
