...and the Lollapalooza 2013 lineup rumors begin

Well, it's about that time of year when the Lollapalooza lineup rumors start to pour in. Fake Shore Drive points to a short list of rumored (or "leaked") acts for this year's festival, which is slated to take place from August 2nd - 4th in Grant Park, and includes The Cure, Jay-Z, Mumford & Sons, Blur, Skrillex, The Flaming Lips, Vampire Weekend, How To Destroy Angels, My Bloody Valentine(!), MGMT, Kendrick Lamar, Eels, Alabama Shakes, Lower Dens, Purity Ring, CHVRCHES, Alt-J, STRFKR, The Vaccines, and more. We can neither confirm nor deny the rumored acts, but it should be a good time if a few of them take the stage in Grant Park throughout the weekend. (Here's a reminder for you: in 2012, Lolla began to reveal its lineup via CTA ads.)

What do you think: is this list 100% bullshit or do some of these artists seem probable? Only time will tell. All ticketing information for the 2013 festival is forthcoming.

The Cure's been rumored every year I can remember, never actually been on the lineup. And Purity Ring is playing at the Metro in May, making them very unlikely based on C3's regulations regarding Lolla acts playing in Chicago reasonably before/after the festival.

the lineup is fan made. last year's was made by bryn rich aka @brynrich aka brynrich on the lolla forums. He made the lineup last year and this year's was made by another very active user in the lolla forums..more than likely either a user called garpo or johnd(the lineup matches his top artist list for lolla exactly)..there are speculation about it being a couple of chicago radio personalities as well(but we rnt sure)

the lineups are made by compiling data for tours and other concerts. the source code for the lolla lineup page is downloaded from last year's page and the band names and replaced with the speculated ones. Very easy to do.

i personally spoke with bryn regarding the newest lineups and he siad it isnt him, but then sarcastically said or is it. Last year he did "to fuck with the media". this year is probably mroe fo the same.

Sorry, these are not right if NIN is not on the list, NIN will be a head liner this year after a long hiatus, they have a new record, and will be doing there first show with long time friend perry farrel

Update: According to Billboard, one of Nine Inch Nails’ appearances will be at this summer’s Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.

The Vaccines will most likely be there. Someone e-mailed their manager, who confirmed that they'll be in Chicago in early August.

i sure hope this is fake because its a shit lineup. especially jay-z. i hope he gets killed on stage if he does play at lolla.

are ALL playing at Osheaga in Canada Montreal... which is the EXACT SAME WEEKEND as lolla... so nope. try again.

Hate if you want, but Jay Z is one f the most talented and successful artists, not just rap, of all time. Also, don't wish death on anybody because that is a terrible thing to wish

VELD in Toronto just posted their headliners, and this makes be very sad, Deadmau5 and Above & Beyond are on the flyer. I was hoping because Deadmau5 is doing Lollapalooza Chile and Brazil, he'd be in Chicago.
