As mentioned, "summer's last stand," the North Coast Music Festival, is set to take place from August 31 - September 2 in Union Park (where Pitchfork Fest just wrapped up). They've now revealed the daily lineups for all three days of the festival, which includes Girl Talk, Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, Big Boi, The Rapture, YACHT, Dan Deacon, King Khan & the Shrines, Thundercat, and many more acts. "White metallers" Liturgy play the Pitchfork Fest's blue stage at 2:50pm on Saturday, after Lotus Plaza and before Youth Lagoon. As mentioned, Liturgy also play a Pitchfork Fest afterparty at the Hideout later that night, with Lasers and Fast and Shit and Weird Magic. Tickets are still on sale for the later show, and we have a pair you can enter to win. Details on how to do that are below.
In related news, the lineup of Austin's annual Fun Fun Fun Fest was just announced (Liturgy, Refused, Public Image Ltd, Run DMC, De La Soul, and many more included. Check that out.

Liars @ Webster Hall in June (NYC) (more by Bryan Bruchman)

Liars released their excellent new album, WIXIW, early last month via Mute and are currently on tour in support of it. The North American leg of that tour begins this Thursday (7/5) in San Francisco and arrives at Metro on July 19. Main support "Joan of Arc (solo)" was just added to the show, which could only be a set from Tim Kinsella. Tickets are still available and we've also got three pairs to give away!

Moonface @ Emo's in Austin, TX in July of 2011 (more by Tim Griffin)

Moonface (aka Spencer Krug) released his most recent album, Heartbreaking Bravery, back in April via Jagjaguwar. As mentioned, the LP is a collaboration with the Finnish band Siinai, who have been accompanying Spencer on the road. The group begin the U.S. leg of their tour in Michigan tomorrow night (6/15) and will reach Chicago's Lincoln Hall on Saturday night (6/16). Tickets are still available and we've also got a pair, plus a vinyl copy of Heartbreaking Bravery, to give away! Details on how to enter to win can be found below.
In conjunction with the tour, Moonface has released a new video for Heartbreaking Bravery track "Faraway Lightning." Check out the video, which was created entirely from hand-drawn images, at the bottom of this post.

Maps & Atlases, who played bvChicago-SXSW, play a big hometown show on Friday night (May 11), at Metro, with So Many Dynamos and Sister Crayon. Tickets are still available and we've also got a pair to give away! Details on how to enter to win them are below.
St. Louis' spazzy So Many Dynamos join up with Maps for two shows on this tour, Chicago and a hometown performance at the Firebird on the following night. They're self-releasing a new EP digitally on June 26, which will be for sale via iTunes and Amazon. Its cover art and tracklisting can be found at the bottom of this post. They are also gearing up to release a new full-length, titled Safe with Sound, and we've got the video/single premiere of their track "Matter of Fact."

As mentioned, Low are heading out on tour this spring across North America with Death Cab For Cutie (backed by the Magik*Magik Orchestra). The tour hits Chicago on April 16 and spends two nights in a row at The Chicago Theatre. Tickets for the first night are sold out. Though Low have been semi-quiet lately, frontman Alan Sparhawk has been keeping busy with his other project The Retribution Gospel Choir. RGC released a free EP, dubbed The Revolution, back in February via Sub Pop. The Revolution is now available in physical formats as well. You can catch Alan and co. when they visit Schubas on May 3. Tickets are still available.
