the-appleseed-cast

Yesterday afternoon, the Appleseed Cast's van and trailer were run off the road in KS. No members of the band were in the accident, but friend and tour mate Anthony Piazza of Muscle Worship was driving and luckily is OK. On the not so lucky side, Appleseed's trailer was completely destroyed, there are damages to their tour van, and many pieces of their gear were wrecked. If you have any loot to spare and want to help them get back on the road next week, we here at Graveface really appreciate it. If you donate a minimum of $15, you'll get their new (and incredible!) album, Illumination Ritual, in just about any digital format you can imagine. If you already have this record and simply want to donate, you can send your donations to gravefacerecords@hotmail.com
[Graveface Records].
Following a van collision earlier this week that destroyed their trailer, damaged the vehicle, and wrecked many pieces of gear, The Appleseed Cast are raising money in hopes of getting back on the road next week. As seen above, there are two ways to donate: via Bandcamp in exchange for a digital copy of TAC's new album, Illumination Ritual, OR via Paypal set up through gravefacerecords@hotmail.com. Their entire May tour schedule is in jeopardy of being scrapped.

TAC are also slated to play some more U.S. dates this summer. That tour includes a pair of shows at Fireside Bowl on August 8 & 9 with tourmates Heartscape Landbreak. An Aesthetic Anaesthetic will act as main support on August 8, and August 9 will feature Red Fox Grey Fox. Advance tickets for both shows are on sale now.

All known Appleseed Cast dates and a stream of Illumination Ritual are below...

showyousuck-austin

Chicago rapper ShowYouSuck has had a busy 2013 so far. He polished off his three-part One Man Pizza Party mixtape series with the 26-track Rest In Pizza, performed at SXSW in Austin, TX, and has played many hometown shows. He's got another Chicago show scheduled for later this month, on May 17 at Double Door with theWHOevers, Que Billah, Shayna Love, Kidd Tha Chicagoan, FM Supreme, Jay 2 "The Kidd Classic", Cadillac Duke, and Robbie B the Name. Tickets go on sale this Saturday (5/4) at noon CST.

ShowYou's newest song is called "Rap Game Karate," and appeared on the AEMMP Records' compilation The Prerequisite. On the track, he flows nicely over an unconventional beat and drops one of the funniest lines I have ever heard in hip hop: "Welcome to my dojo, take your shoes off." Take a listen to the track at the bottom of this post.

All known ShowYouSuck tour dates and a stream of "Rap Game Karate" are below...

Jenkinson will venture stateside to perform at Camp Bisco in Mariaville, NY, and will be playing some U.S. shows surrounding that appearance. One of those gigs is a performance at Metro on July 5. Advance tickets for the Chicago show are on sale now.

All known Squarepusher tour dates and a video for "Dark Steering" from Ufabulum are below...

Hot Water Music @ Metro in January (more by Zach Pollack)
11

When Hot Water Music went on hiatus in 2006, 3/4 of the band (Chris Wollard, Jason Black, and George Rebelo) formed a new project called The Draft. They welcomed their debut LP, In a Million Pieces, that year, and followed it up with a self-titled EP in 2007. Hot Water Music got back together in 2008, and have been running strong ever since. Maybe you caught them at Metro this January when they were on tour in support of 2012's Exister? You'll have a chance to catch The Draft live this summer, when they embark on a U.S. tour in July. That tour includes a performance at Lincoln Hall on July 27. Tickets for the Chicago show go on sale TODAY (5/3) at noon CST.

All Draft tour dates and some song streams are below...

minor-characters-live-session

Chicago's Minor Characters have been touring throughout the Midwest in short spurts this spring. Last weekend in Indianapolis, they filmed a take away performance of "Sun Trials" from this year's Heal Me, Healing Times EP. While frontman Andrew Pelletier takes this one solo by a river, each member does appear in the clip. The "Sun Trials" session was filmed and edited by guitarist Shelby Pollard, and you can check it out at the bottom of this post.

Minor Characters have a few upcoming shows, including a hometown performance. They'll headline Subterranean on May 10 with support from Champaign's Elsinore, and Brother George. Advance tickets for the Chicago show are still available.

All known Minor Characters tour dates and that take away performance are below...
