Nachtmystium @ Lovejoys in Austin, TX (BV-SXSW 2012) (more by Greg Cristman)

As seen on BrooklynVegan, Nachtmystium are beginning to announce a string of fall tour dates with support from Jarboe and Weapon, surrounding their performance at Fun Fun Fun Festival in Austin, TX. That growing tour now includes a Chicago show at Ultra Lounge on November 21. Advance tickets are on sale. The shows are in support of their recently released LP, Silencing Machine, which they celebrated with a release show at Reggie's.
Nachtmystium's Blake Judd and Sanford Parker (pictured above) are also members of the group Twilight, who recently finished recording a new album in Chicago with fresh addition Thurston Moore. The album is titled Beneath the Trident's Tomb, and is due out in 2013 via Century Media.
Jarboe (aka ex-Swans member Jane Jarboe) dropped her most recent album, Indemnity, in 2011. She does, however, make an appearance on Swans' excellent new LP, The Seer, by contributing vocals to both "The Seer Returns" and "A Piece of the Sky." You can catch Swans live at Metro on October 24 as part of their fall international tour.

Tombs @ Union Pool in March (BKLYN) (more by Di Lynn Ring)

Brooklyn's Tombs are beginning to announce a fall tour. Just a couple dates have surfaced so far, including a performance at Township on October 16 with labelmates 16 (fitting, right?) and Chicago's Jar'd Loose. Advance tickets for the Chicago show are on sale. All known dates are listed at the bottom of this post.
Tombs released their most recent album, the great Path of Totality, in 2011 via Relapse Records. While we wait for the follow-up to Path of Totality-- they'll be heading into the studio this winter-- you can check out two different versions of their take on David Bowie's "Heroes" below. One has been dubbed "the NYC Mix" and the other is called "the Berlin Mix," and features a verse sung in German by Ralph Schmidt (Hëllström, Planks). The tracks premiered this morning (8/29) via Ghettoblaster, and you can read a bit about why they chose to cover Bowie at the site.
All known Tombs dates and some song streams (including their Bowie cover(s)) are below...
