Nada Surf @ Metro in April (more by Grant MacAllister)

Much like tonight's Consequence of Sound-presented "Top Note Session" with The Joy Formidable at Metro's fourth floor Top Note Theater, Nada Surf will also be playing a session on December 8. As you might recall, they've also got a show at regular 'ol Metro that night with Eternal Summers and Bailiff. Doors for the Top Note show are at 8PM, and the session starts at a prompt 8:20PM, so that Metro proper can open doors at 9PM. A ticket to the session, which are now on-sale, will also grant you entrance to their Metro show, complimentary beverages, and a copy of their newest album, The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy.
All Nada Surf tour dates are listed below...

We posted a full set of pictures from that party on BV, but here's a few more BV Chicago-exclusive shots of Eternal Summers who kick off a week-long tour with Nada Surf here in Chicago on December 8 at Metro (the show, which also has Bailiff on the bill, had no opener when we first announced it in July). Tickets are still on sale.

Joan of Arc @ Metro in February (more by Grant MacAllister)

Susan Stursberg, owner of Gold Star Bar, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She needs help to raise money for her medical expenses and the local music community have stepped in to do their part.
On April 22, Joan of Arc, Coffin Pricks, Bailiff, The Ragtones, and DJ Bobby Conn will play a benefit concert for Susan at the Double Door. Tickets go on sale this Saturday (March 31), at noon CST.
Speaking of Saturday, there's a fundraising event taking place that night at the Gold Star. As part of a silent auction, you could head home on Saturday with Bears/Cubs/Sox/Fire tickets, VIP passes to the 2012 Pitchfork Festival, a Shellac Friends LP, an autographed limited edition GWAR poster, and more.
You can track the fundraising process (which is 91% complete!) HERE.
