Divine Fits at Taste of Randolph on 06.14.2013
Taste of Randolph 2013 went down from June 14-16 in Chicago's West Loop. Divine Fits, JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, Joy Formidable, Lord Huron, Bear in Heaven, and many more acts performed on two stages throughout the weekend. The Taste of Randolph Street Festival is set to take place from June 14-16 this year. The fest, which is centered at 900 W. Randolph St., will feature two stages with performances by Divine Fits, The Joy Formidable, Lord Huron, Bear in Heaven, American Royalty, Matrimony, and many more acts. A suggested donation of $10 per day supports the West Loop Community Organization.

As discussed, Hooray for Earth will head to Chicago next week for a performance at Schubas on January 16 as part of the Tomorrow Never Knows Festival. Bear in Heaven headline that show, Supreme Cuts and The-Drum are also on the bill, and advance tickets are still available.
Hooray for Earth, who are currently working on the follow-up to 2011's True Loves, have revealed a cover of Bear in Heaven's "Lovesick Teenagers" that they recorded back in 2009. You can take a listen to their their version of the track, and watch BiH play the original on KEXP at the bottom of this post.

As discussed, the 2013 edition of Tomorrow Never Knows is set to take place from January 16-20 at Lincoln Hall, Schubas, Metro, Hideout, Smart Bar, and the Vic Theatre. A second round of acts have now been added to the festival; some playing brand new shows and some as support for previously announced headliners.
One of the new shows happens at Metro on January 19, and it'll be headlined by Lucero. Tickets for that one go on sale this Friday (11/23) at noon CST. Another new one is Bear in Heaven, Hooray For Earth, Supreme Cuts, and one more act TBA at Schubas on January 16. Tickets for that show also go on sale this Friday at noon.

As mentioned, Bear in Heaven, Blouse, and Doldrums are coming to Chicago to play Schubas on April 18. A second show, taking place the following night, has now been added to their tour schedule. Tickets will be posted shortly and go on sale this Friday (March 23), at noon CST.

Bear in Heaven's new album, I Love You, It's Cool, is due to hit stores on April 3rd via Dead Oceans. The LP is still streaming at 400,000% slower than actual speed at the band's website. Doldrums, who recently headlined Schubas, also happens to be featured on Grimes' new LP Visions, which is currently streaming at NPR. The album will be released on February 21st in the US via 4AD. She'll hit the Empty Bottle on tour in support of the LP, on March 14th. Tickets are still available.

Brooklyn's Bear in Heaven are set to release their new album I Love You, It's Cool on April 3rd via Dead Oceans; the band's first for the label. You can stream the album NOW, though they have slowed it down 400,000% so it will play until April 3rd. The savants explain the whole deal in a press release, which is posted on BrooklynVegan.
Bear in Heaven will kick off a 2012 headlining tour in late March, which reaches Chicago's Schubas on April 18th. Tickets go on sale this Friday (12/16), at noon CST.
