Calexico have announced a summer North American tour which surrounds their appearances at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Wakarusa, Bonnaroo 2013, and other festivals. That tour includes a performance at City Winery Chicago on June 3. Tickets for the Chicago show are on presale now (the password is "CALEXICOCWC"), and will go on sale to the general public shortly.

Calexico, who opened for Death Cab For Cutie at Taste of Chicago on July 12, are set to release their new album, Algiers, on September 11 via ANTI-. You can download the album's lead single "Para" at the top of this post and/or watch a music video for it below. While you're down there, check out Algiers cover art and tracklist.

Calexico will be heading out on a North American tour in October with support from The Dodos. The two bands will play a Chicago show at Lincoln Hall on October 15. Tickets go on sale this Saturday (7/21) at 10AM CST.

Calexico @ Outside Lands in San Francisco in 2009 (more by Chris Graham)

Calexico, whose most recent Chicago show was Cultivate Festival in October, have been tapped by Death Cab For Cutie to open their Taste of Chicago show at the Petrillo Music Shell on July 12. Ticketing info is still forthcoming.

The Chicago show is currently Calexico's only US date. The band are gearing up for a fall European tour and aside from a performance at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal in August, don't seem to have too much going on this summer. Their full tour schedule and some videos below...

The Chipotle-organized Cultivate Festival is set to take place on October 1st, from 11AM - 7PM in Chicago's Lincoln Park. The 100% FREE festival's aim is to "bring together food, famers, chefs, though leaders, and musicians."

Featuring a Brewers Hall, Chefs Tent, Artisans Hall, Kids Area, and Music Stage, Cultivate has a bit to offer to everyone.

The somewhat-stacked musical lineup will feature: Calexico, Mayer Hawthorne, White Rabbits, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and last but not least The Cave Singers.
