The Empty Bottle's free winter block party, Music Frozen Dancing, returns for a 2015 edition on February 28, this time with Perfect Pussy, Protomartyr, and Chicago staples Oozing Wound and NE-HI. Like last year, the event is 100% free, all ages, and outdoors. Goose Island will be serving up beer, alongside caffeinated offerings from Dark Matter Coffee. Gates open at 1PM.
Tickets to see Crosby, Stills and Nash at The Chicago Theatre go on sale this Saturday (2/7) at 10AM. A Jam Productions presale for that show will be active on Friday from 10AM to 10PM; the password is CSN2.
Tickets to see San Fermin and Natalie Prass at Lincoln Hall go on sale this Friday at noon.

Torres has announced that she'll be embarking on a spring North American tour in support of her second album, Sprinter, which is due out on May 5 via her new label home of Partisan Records. The LP was produced by PJ Harvey collaborator Rob Ellis and features PJ bassist Ian Oliver, as well as Portishead guitarist Adrian Utley. You can get a feel for the album by checking out its lead single // opening cut "Strange Hellos" at the bottom of this post. Another album track called "New Skin," which originally appeared via Weathervane's Shaking Through series is also available to stream.
After a stint at SXSW 2015, Torres and her band will hit the road for a proper tour right after Sprinter's release. That run includes a performance at the Empty Bottle on May 21, and tickets for the Chicago show go on sale this Friday (1/30) at 10AM CST.

JEFF the Brotherhood welcomed their new covers EP, aptly titled Dig the Classics, last week via their own Infinity Cat label/Warner Brothers. You've already heard their takes on The Wipers' "Mystery" and The Pixies' "Gouge Away," and the full EP is now available to stream via Spotify, Rdio. You'll also find an Rdio stream of the EP at the bottom of this post.
JEFF are currently on tour throughout North America with their Nashville // Infinity Cat cohorts Diarrhea Planet, and have now announced that they'll play the Empty Bottle on New Year's Eve (December 31). Diarrhea Planet sadly won't be joining the brothers in Chicago, but tickets for what should be a ripper nonetheless go on sale this Friday (10/10) at 10AM CST.
And like they've done in the past, the Empty Bottle are also bringing Windy City Soul Club back to the Logan Square Auditorium for New Year's Eve. Tickets for that show also go on sale this Friday at 10AM.

NYC duo Buke and Gase welcomed their most recent album, General Dome, in February of 2013. As seen on their Facebook, the pair began recording its follow-up back in May. While album details are forthcoming, we should be able to hear some of their new tunes when they embark on a fall North American tour. That tour includes a show at the Empty Bottle on October 6, and tickets for the Chicago show go on sale this Friday (8/15) at 10AM CST.

Denmark punks Iceage are still working on their third full-length (no hard details yet), but that hasn't stopped them from announcing a North American tour with London experimentalist Helm. They land in Chicago for a show at the Empty Bottle on October 22 with additional support from Father Murphy. Tickets for that show go on sale on Monday (7/28) at 10AM CST.

Merchandise's 4AD debut After The End is due to hit stores in about a month (on 8/25), and the band have now shared a new video for the LP's second single "Enemy." The clip was directed by Tim Saccenti and draws inspiration from filmmaker greats Stan Brakhage, Kenneth Anger and William Eggleston. You can check it out at the bottom of this post.
Merchandise have also announced a fall North American tour with direct support from like-minded Danish quartet Lower. That tour includes a show at the Empty Bottle on October 10 with additional support from local outfit Final Grin. Advance tickets for the Chicago show are on sale now.

Dylan Carlson's mighty Earth are slated to welcome their 10th album, titled Primitive And Deadly, in September via Southern Lord. The LP features a slew of guest vocalists and instrumentalists including the incomparable Mark Lanegan, Rabia Shaheen Qazi (Rose Windows), Bill Herzog (Sunn O))), Brett Netson (Built To Spill), and Jodie Cox (Narrows). Qazi provides vocals on the LP's lead single "From the Zodiacal Light" which is available to stream over at Pitchfork.
After a lengthy summer European run, Earth will be touring throughout North America with support from King Dude this fall. That tour includes a show at the Empty Bottle on September 29. Tickets for the Chicago show go on sale this Friday (7/18) at 10AM CST.

Chicago-based heavy shoegaze // dreampop outfit Lightfoils are slated to welcome their debut full-length effort, Hierarchy, next week (on 7/8) via Saint Marie Records. The LP was produced by the all-things-heavy expert Sanford Parker, and serves as the follow-up to their 2012 self-titled EP. They've already shared the LP's lead single "Diastolic," and its pulsating second single "Mock Sun" makes its premiere in this post. You can check out both tracks below. Hierarchy is up for preorder via Saint Marie's webstore.
Lightfoils will be celebrating the release of Hierarchy with a show at the Empty Bottle on July 8 with A Sunny Day in Glasgow (who recently released a new LP of their own). Advance tickets are still available. They'll also play the Double Door on August 9 with American Cosmonaut (tickets).

Austin band The Young are slated to release the follow-up to 2012's Dub Egg, titled Chrome Cactus, on August 26 via Matador. You can get a feel for the LP by checking out its lead single "Metal Flake" at the bottom of this post.

Brooklyn experimentalists Oneida have announced that they'll be embarking on a summer North American tour in mid-July. That tour includes a show at the Empty Bottle on July 30 with support from local krautrock favorites CAVE. Advance tickets for the Chicago show are on sale now. Oneida are also readying a tour-only cassette called The Brah Tapes, which is a collection of live and studio material from the past five years. The tape track "RPT" made its premiere via BrooklynVegan and is also available to stream at the bottom of this post.
