"G-Side has been a longtime favorite of influential rap bloggers, and their last album, The One...Cohesive, is one of the most exciting and heralded rap albums of the year. They've toured Norway three times (more on this later) and played this past summer's Pitchfork Festival." [SPIN]After playing a BrooklynVegan-presented show at Glasslands in Brooklyn tonight (12/6), Alabama rap group G-Side will continue touring their way to Chicago for a show with YP at Empty Bottle on 12/13. Tickets are still on sale for what will be their first show in town since the Pitchfork Festival. All tour dates, more about the group, and live pics are HERE.
About a month ago G-Side played a set at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest, and then later that night (11/6) at one of the afterpartes at Empire Automotive. We have an unposted set of pictures from the afterparty in this post and they continue along with a stream of their new album "Island", below...

"As previously announced, the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival will be taking place on Friday, July 15th through Sunday, July 17th at Chicago's Union Park! Tickets went on sale on March 4th, and sold out in a record time of 24 hours! That being said, single-day passes can still be picked up at the rate of $45 per day.Friday will see the addition of Guided By Voices and Neko Case; Saturday's lineup will feature No Age, Gang Gang Dance, G-Side, and Chrissy Murderbot; Sunday's stellar lineup now includes The Fresh & Onlys, Radio Dept., HEALTH, Shabazz Palaces, Baths, How To Dress Well, Kurt Vile, and Twin Sister.
