As mentioned on BrooklynVegan, Ital, the project of Daniel Martin-McCormick, who was also in Black Eyes, Mi Ami, and recorded as Sex Worker, is playing a few shows this month. One of those happens in Chicago on January 27 at Empty Botle. No openers have been announced yet. Tickets for that show are on sale now. If you've never seen Ital live and are wondering if he's "just another knob turner," I caught him on his 2012 tour with Laurel Halo and can assure that it's a great time. His music in Ital may lean a bit on the calmer side recorded, but he's a party-starter at heart and he goes nuts behind the boards at his shows.

All dates are listed at BrooklynVegan. You can stream some tracks below...

As mentioned, Laurel Halo is currently on the road in the US with Ital, Magic Touch, and M Geddes Gengras. The four acts will hit Chicago this Sunday (9/30) for a performance at Lincoln Hall. Tickets are still available, and we've also got two pairs to give away! Details on how to enter to win a pair can be found at the bottom of this post.

Laurel's most recent album, Quarantine, hit stores in June via Hyperdub. You can stream the LP in its entirety at the bottom of this post. She also recently remixed Lianne La Havas' song "Forget," and you can download her version above.

Laurel Halo at MoMA PS1 in 2011 (NYC) (more by Amanda Hatfield)

Brooklyn-based producer/genre-warping pop musician Laurel Halo and fellow Brooklynite Ital (aka Daniel Martin-McCormick of Mi Ami/Sex Worker) are heading out on tour together this fall. A full tour has yet to be revealed, but we do know that the two musicians will be visiting Lincoln Hall on September 30. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday (7/20) at noon CST (one opener TBA).

Halo released her fantastic new LP, Quarantine, last month via Hyperdub. As Andrew has gone into depth about, Quarantine showcases more or less a departure from her beatwork in favor of songs centered around her voice. You can stream the LP in its entirety at the bottom of this post.

All known Laurel Halo dates are listed below, along with a stream of Quarantine and some videos.
