DOWNLOAD: Memoryhouse - "The Kids Were Wrong" (MP3)

Toronto's Memoryhouse are set to release their debut LP, The Slideshow Effect, on February 28th via Sub Pop Records. The album was produced by band member Evan Abeele, with help from friend, collaborator, and stand-in bassist Barzin Hassani Rad. The album's first single "The Kids Were Wrong" shows the duo leaning towards a fuller, less reverb-laden sound, opting to push the vocals of Denise Nouvion to the front of the mix. Download the track at the top of this post and/or stream it below, along side the LP's cover art and tracklisting.

Memoryhouse are set to kick off a 2012 North American tour right here in Chicago, opting to play Schubas on their record release date. Tickets go on sale this Friday (1/13), at noon CST.

The duo also recently put their own spin on The Zombies track, "This Will Be Our Year."

In light of the new year, Evan and I have decided to record a cover of one of our favorite Zombies songs, "This Will Be Our Year". Thank you everyone for all of your support in 2011, and I hope this song helps motivate you to lose 5 pounds, stop smoking, and watch less reality T.V. (or is that just me?). Lots of exciting things are in the works this year, onward and upward!
