Motorhead in NJ in 2012 (more by Greg Cristman)
Regretfully, Motörhead announces it has had to cancel its remaining six summer festival appearances. The band hate to let their fans down by missing any shows, but they expect to be back in full force this Fall. The above message was posted to Motorhead's website, stating that they've had to cancel the remainder of their European tour after canceling a few other dates in June, due to Lemmy's hematoma.
As you may have heard, earlier this Spring Lemmy had some medical maintenance for the long-term good, He was, at that time, advised to rest, but once feeling better, he of course resumed his life as usual. He has since been advised that he should immediately take some more time to rest
Lemmy says: I'd like to thank everyone who wish me well, it was a tough
decision for me as I don't like to disappoint the fans especially in times where
economy is bad and people spent their money to see us. But sometimes you
can't do anything else than following doctor's orders, but be sure we will be
back and kick everybody's ass.
There you have it! You can now stop worrying, redirect those cards, flowers and chocolates to a loved one (who will appreciate them far more), keep calm and carry on! Lemmy and Motörhead certainly are! Thanks and see you in the Fall for their new album in the form of a massive Aftershock...

Motörhead @ Roseland Ballroom 9/21/2008 (more by Chris La Putt)
Motörhead's The Wörld is Yours was released on February 8th, via Motörhead Music / EMI Music Services.
MOTÖRHEAD, the loudest, coolest and most iconic rock'n'roll lifestyle around, announce their 2011 U.S. tour dates to celebrate the band's 35th anniversary and the release their new studio album, The Wörld Is Yours.
Motörhead are a mindset, a belief, a way to live your life, a way to both survive and beat a society that sometimes seems intent on trying to grind you down. Which is why Motörhead have chosen now, in what might be some of the most tense times in recent global history, to release a hell-raising, rebel-rousing rock'n'roll statement known as The Wörld is Yours.
If that isn't enough, the critically-acclaimed documentary about Motörhead's iconic founding-frontman, titled LEMMY, which has been tearing up the worldwide film festival circuit from New York to Melbourne to London and beyond, will premiere nationally in January.
"We don't fit into anything!" roars founder and heartbeat Lemmy Kilmister,"the only thing we fit into is 'Motörhead' because we are Motörhead music and that's what we do!" [press release]
LEMMY aired last night on VH1, and VH1 Classic.
The band is currently on tour with the jaw-dropping combo of Clutch and Valient Thorr. They will reach the Congress Theatre on Saturday, February 19th (tickets are still available), and the rock'n'roll legends with make a TV appearance on the Jimmy Fallon Show on NBC on March 2nd.
