Blake Judd's mugshot
Nachtmystium leader Blake Judd was arrested this past Saturday (10/5) on charges of theft, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Department Of Corrections. The charges (720 ILCS 5/16-1) boil down to theft by unauthorized control of property not exceeding $500. The Illinois General Assembly describes this as being a Class A misdemeanor. Blake's bail is set at $25,000 with a court date set for this Friday (10/11).
Nachtmystium have shows scheduled for October and November, including an appearance at CMJ and a hometown show at Metro on November 30 with support from Weekend Nachos, Krieg, Harms Way, and Wilt (tickets). It's unclear if Blake will be able to appear at any of these dates.

Chicago's Weekend Nachos are gearing up for the release of their new album, titled Still, which is due out on November 8 via Relapse/Deep Six. You can take a listen to the LP cuts "S.C.A.B." and "Satan Sucker" at the bottom of this post.
Weekend Nachos will be heading out on fall North American tour in support of their new album. That tour includes a pair of hometown shows: a record release at The Fallout on November 8 and Metro on November 30 with Nachtmystium (tickets).

As seen on BrooklynVegan, Nachtmystium are beginning to announce a string of fall tour dates with support from Jarboe and Weapon, surrounding their performance at Fun Fun Fun Festival in Austin, TX. That growing tour now includes a Chicago show at Ultra Lounge on November 21. Advance tickets are on sale. The shows are in support of their recently released LP, Silencing Machine, which they celebrated with a release show at Reggie's.
Nachtmystium's Blake Judd and Sanford Parker (pictured above) are also members of the group Twilight, who recently finished recording a new album in Chicago with fresh addition Thurston Moore. The album is titled Beneath the Trident's Tomb, and is due out in 2013 via Century Media.
Jarboe (aka ex-Swans member Jane Jarboe) dropped her most recent album, Indemnity, in 2011. She does, however, make an appearance on Swans' excellent new LP, The Seer, by contributing vocals to both "The Seer Returns" and "A Piece of the Sky." You can catch Swans live at Metro on October 24 as part of their fall international tour.

Local psychedelic black metal outfit Nachtmystium are set to play a hometown show at Reggie's tonight (7/31) in celebration of the release of their new LP, Silencing Machine. Murmur, Krieg, Drug Honkey, and Surachai are also on the bill, and tickets are still available. Stream Silencing Machine in its entirety via SPIN and purchase the album in a variety of formats HERE.
In related news, Thurston Moore has joined the black metal "supergroup" Twilight, which features Nachtmystium's Blake Judd and Sanford Parker, The Atlas Moth's Stavros Giannopolous, Leviathan's Wrest (aka Jef Whitehead), Krieg's Imperial (aka Neill Jameson), and Isis/Old Man Gloom's Aaron Turner. There has been talk of Moore joining the band since 2010, though he was not revealed as an official member until yesterday. A new Twilight album is slated to hit stores this fall via Century Media.

As discussed previously on BrooklynVegan, Lord Mantis contains two members of Nachtmystium & Avichi. The duo recently released another new LP with Pervertor, which is out now via Candlelight and will be celebrated on April 6th at Cobra Lounge. Tickets are on sale for the show which will also feature Indian (who share a member with LM and another member with Nachtmystium), Regrets and Hunters.

New Year's Eve Weekend 2011 presents a wide variety of options for Chicagoans. We've announced a bunch of shows already and here are some more for you to choose from.
Brain Idea and The Yolks play The Burlington on December 30th. Tickets are $7 at the door. The venue are also hosting what they call a New Year's Eve Spectacular! (DJs and stuff).
Jameson are throwing a New Year's event at the Cobra Lounge which features The Spits, Mickey, and TV Ghost. Tickets are still available. The night before, the Cobra Lounge will host Nachtmystium, Enabler, and Like Rats.
Material Re-Issue, Hushdrops, and Redgrave will play Reggie's on NYE.
Soulman Otis Clay and his band will play SPACE in Evanston on NYE.
The Disco Biscuits will play the Auditorium Theatre on both December 30th and 31st.
DJ Ves120 will play The Whistler on December 30th and the venue will host their own celebration the following night.
