Pinback @ Metro, November 2012 (more by Grant MacAllister)

There are few things I enjoy more than a well-packaged tour, and damn did they hit this one right on the money. Pinback will hit the road throughout North America in late-August, and then as September rolls around, they'll be joined by Deathfix (the project of Fugazi's Brenden Canty). The fall leg of that tour kicks off with a performance at Lincoln Hall on September 3. Tickets for the Chicago show go on sale this Friday (5/17).

Pinback at Metro on 11.17.2012

San Diego, CA's Pinback recently toured the US in support of Information Retrieved, their first full-length LP since 2007's Autumn of the Seraphs. During that tour, which wrapped up earlier this week, they played a Chicago show at Metro on November 17. Main support came from Hella offshoot Solos, and we've got more pictures of both acts below. Tickets for Love Inks' show at Township are on sale now, and Craft Spells have been added to the bill.

Tickets for Metz' show at the Empty Bottle go on sale this Friday at 10AM CST.

Tickets for AC Newman's show at the Empty Bottle are still available, and The Mynabirds have just been added as main support.

Tickets for Pinback's show at Metro go on sale this Friday at noon CST.

Pinback are at long last set to release the follow-up to 2007's Autumn of the Seraphs this year. The 10-track Information Retrieved is due out on October 16 via Temporary Residence Limited, and you can stream the album tracks "Proceed to Memory," "Sherman," and "True North" at the bottom of this post. That's the LP's cover art above and its full tracklist can be found below.

Pinback will be supporting Information Retrieved with a fall North American tour. After a short string of California dates in September, the duo will begin their tour on the East Coast in November. That tour includes a Chicago show, at Metro on November 17. Tickets go on sale this Friday (8/31) at noon CST.

As mentioned, Pinback are headed to Chicago on June 17 to play the Bottom Lounge. Since we posted that news (two weeks ago), the band have added a few more dates to their summer schedule, which all feature support from Tim Kinsella. Tickets are still available for the Chicago show. All dates are listed below.

In related news, Cap'n Jazz/Joan of Arc/Owls guitarist Victor Villareal was overheard at a recent solo show saying that Owls are working on some new material(!). The group disbanded in 2002 and began rehearsing as a full band again, this March. Download "Everyone Is My Friend" from their 2001 self-titled LP at the top of this post. Stay tuned for updates.

San Diego's Pinback are currently working on the follow-up to 2007's Autumn of the Seraphs and have announced a lone tour date-- June 17 at the Bottom Lounge. Tickets go on sale this Friday (April 20), at 10AM CST.

The band's most recent release, Information Retrieved Pt. B, arrived on Record Store Day Black Friday 2011 and served as the second piece of their Information Retrieved series. Frontman Rob Crow also released a solo LP, He Thinks He's People, in 2011. While you sit tight for new material, head below for some videos.
