In addition to the Revelation Records 25th anniversary that takes place at the House of Blues this Saturday (1/5) and Sunday, Quicksand/Gorilla Biscuits frontman Walter Schreifels will be playing an acoustic set at The Cibola Record Fair on Saturday afternoon. The fair is being put on by LifeLine Records and features punk, hardcore, and pop-punk records being sold by local record labels, record stores, and collectors. As discussed, Revelation Records are celebrating their 25th anniversary in Chicago with a weekend of shows at the House of Blues. There were originally three shows-- one each night from January 4-6-- but January 4 has since been pulled from the schedule. Ray Cappo's Shelter are no longer slated to perform, but most other acts have been able to join the Saturday (1/5) lineup.
Here's what Revelation 25 Chicago will look like:

90s post-hardcore favorites Quicksand played a few reunion shows earlier this year. They're also currently in the midst of announcing a 2013 North American tour, which includes a performance at Metro on January 12. Tickets for the Chicago show go on sale this Friday (11/30) at noon CST.
UPDATE: An artist pre-sale for all dates is currently active.

Texas is the Reason at Rev 25 NYC (more by Toby Tenebaum)
As mentioned, Chicago is getting Revelation Records 25th anniversary shows too. On January 4 we'll get NYC hardcore heroes Gorilla Biscuits (one of the early projects of the prolific Walter Schreifels) and Ray Cappo's Hare Krishna-core band Shelter. Then on January 5 it's Gorilla Biscuits again, this time with Youth of Today, which Cappo fronted before forming Shelter. Walter Schreifels also spent some time in Youth of Today (and the two bands have a long running relationship) so some on stage collaboration at that show is not out of the question.
Finally, on January 6, it's more of an emo/post-hardcore oriented lineup with vets Texas is the Reason, Into Another, Sense Field, and Popeye. Tickets for all three shows go on sale today (11/9) at noon.
