Riot Fest Chicago is set to take place from September 13-15 this year in Humboldt Park. Their initial lineup includes Rocket From The Crypt, The Dismemberment Plan, Guided By Voices, Motorhead, Blondie, Public Enemy, FLAG, Bad Religion, Dinosaur Jr., Bob Mould, Screeching Weasel, Mission of Burma, GWAR, Quicksand, and many more acts. Three-day passes are on-sale now, and single-day tickets will be available soon.

As seen on BrooklynVegan, Saul Williams will be heading out on a spoken word tour later this summer, which he's calling the Chorus tour. It hasn't been announced in full yet, but there is a Chicago stop at Schubas on September 12. Doomtree's Dessa will act as main support and advance tickets are on sale.
Chorus is also the title of Williams' new poetry book, which is set to arrive in stores this September. There is also a ticket package available for the Chicago show that includes a copy of the book.

Spoek Mathambo

As mentioned, South African rapper/DJ Spoek Mathambo is set to release his sophomore LP, Father Creeper, on March 13 via Sub Pop Records. Grab the album's lead single "Let Them Talk" via a widget below. Father Creeper is also up for preorder via the label.
Spoek Mathambo has recently added a few more shows to his post-SXSW schedule, including some opening slots for Saul Williams. Mathambo will make his Chicago debut on March 20, acting as main support on Williams' previously announced Bottom Lounge show. Tickets are still available.

Saul Williams @ Afro Punk Festival in 2009 (more by Tim Griffin)

Saul Williams released his fourth studio album, Volcanic Sunlight earlier this year and will tour in support of the LP this February/March. He'll make his way to Chicago's Bottom Lounge for a March 20th performance (support TBA). Tickets go on sale this Friday (12/23), at noon CST.
