Riot Fest Chicago 2012 is set to take place in Humboldt Park from September 14-16.

Nat Baldwin, bassist of the Dirty Projectors and solo singer-songwriter, is coming to Chicago at the end of this month. On March 30 he'll be performing at the Hideout with Sun Rooms. Advance tickets are on sale.

As previously mentioned, he'll also play Brooklyn's Prospect Park with the Dirty Projectors this summer.

Screaming Females, who kicked off their tour with Titus Andronicus and Diarrhea Planet just a few days ago, will make a stop in Chicago to play Subterranean on April 12.

Advance tickets for the Chicago show are on sale, opening act(s) TBA.

Screaming Females also play the BrooklynVegan official SXSW showcase next week in Austin, after which they'll separate from Titus Andronicus.

As previously mentioned, singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell is out on the road and will hit SPACE in Evanston, IL on April 20 with Cuddle Magic. Advance tickets are on sale.

Mitchell's new album, Young Man In America, was released last week via Wilderland Records, which she celebrated with two shows in NYC.

NYC's The Drums, who will be down in Austin next week and are playing at Hotel 'Vegas', have announced a spring North American tour with Craft Spells and Part Time, which hits Subterranean on April 29. Advance tickets for the Chicago show are on sale.

Black Dice are set to release their new LP, Mr. Impossible, on April 10 via Ribbon Music. Stream the album's lead single "Pinball Wizard" over at BrooklynVegan. They'll head out on the road in support of the LP in May, tagging Chicago's Bottom Lounge on the 7th of the month. Advance tickets are on sale.

Amon Tobin, who's releasing a career-spanning boxset on May 21 via Ninja Tune, has announced a string of fall North American dates, set to bring his ISAM Live to the Congress Theater on September 7. On Sunday afternoon (February 19), Screaming Females played the last date of their record store-only tour at Chicago's Permanent Records. The narrow shop was packed to the gills for both the New Jersey trio and local openers Fake Limbs. More pictures from the in-store (like the one above) continue below.

The Screamales' new LP, Ugly, hits stores on April 3 via Don Giovanni Records. The band have a brand new video for the album's lead single, "It All Means Nothing," which you can view below. Its narrative gets a little interesting, but we'll let you find out for yourselves.

Screaming Females are set to release their new, Steve Albini-recorded LP, Ugly, on April 3rd via Don Giovanni. Check out it's cover art and tracklisting below.

After playing a label showcase in Brooklyn on February 11th, Screamles will head out on a short record store tour, which wraps up at Chicago's Permanent Records on February 19th.

The Screaming Females

Screaming Females are currently camped out at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio Studios, recording the follow up to their fantastic 2010 LP Castle Talk. The as-yet-untitled album will be released via Don Giovanni Records next year.

Photographer Kirstie Shanley joined the band in the studio this past Friday (12/2), to document the process. She points out that this was mostly frontwoman Marissa Paternoster's day to record.
