Earlier this year, Chicago's The Shams Band hit the studio to track their forthcoming, sophomore LP. Instead of "taking the easy way out and launching a Kickstarter campaign," said frontman Donnie Biggins, they'll play a fundraising show at Subterranean on Thursday, May 10 to help them foot the bill for pressing vinyl. Dastardly and The Dirty Feathers will act as main support, and advance tickets are on sale.

As part of the dual-weekend Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival, Drive-By Truckers headlined the Congress Theater with special guests Dawes on Saturday (1/28).

Local support on the main stage, a smaller one in the theater's lobby, and even throughout the audience, came from Joe Pug, The Shams Band, Bailiff, The Big Hit, Band Called Catch, Van Ghost, and more.
