As discussed, the second annual Wavefront Music Festival is set to take place from July 5-7 at Montrose Beach. The fest, which features Nicolas Jaar, Diplo, Justice, and many others, have announced the second wave of their lineup. The additions include Fatboy Slim, Frankie Knuckles, and a slew of DFA Records artists -- James Murhpy, Holy Ghost, Pat Mahoney, Nancy Wang, and Shit Robot. Three-day passes and single-day tickets are still available.

Today, Red Bull Music Academy unveiled a short documentary about DFA to celebrate the label's 12th anniversary. You can watch 12 Years of DFA: Too Old To Be New, Too New To Be Classic, which is narrated by Marc Maron, and check out the full Wavefront Music Festival lineup below...

Wavefront Music Festival is back for its second year on Montrose Beach. The EDM-heavy fest will take place from July 5-7, and boasts scene mainstays like Rusko, Caspa, and more, but also features Nicolas Jaar, Diplo, and Justice. You can check out the full lineup at the bottom of this post. Presale tickets are sold-out, but general admission passes go on sale this Thursday (4/4) at 9AM CST.

LCD Soundsystem's last show ever @ MSG (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)

LCD Soundsystem closed out their career by playing five-NYC shows, the last of which was at Madison Square Garden (on 4/2/2011). A documentary of not only the show but the prep FOR the show called Shut Up and Play the Hits, directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, made its debut at Sundance earlier this year and has only shown at a handful of festivals. On July 18, the documentary will be shown at theaters throughout the US. You'll be able to see it here in Chicago but ONLY at the Music Box. At the moment there appears to be just one, 7:30PM showing, which goes on sale on June 8 at noon CST. Maybe they'll add a few more? All dates are listed below.

The film is being distributed by Oscilloscope Laboratories, a production/distribution company owned by late Beastie Adam Yauch. Oscilloscope and the Creators Project are running a contest which includes a trip to NYC, two nights at the swanky Ace Hotel, and a meet and greet with James Murphy (I feel a bit too much like a travel agent). As mentioned, Soundsystem members James Murphy and Pat Mahoney are headed to Chicago to DJ the Wavefront Festival. Though they are billed separately, the two have been known to DJ together. Festival passes are still available.

New Chicago dance festival Wavefront is set to take place from June 30 - July 1 at Montrose Beach. The lineup features mostly club acts (Boys Noize is one of the headliners), however James Murphy, his LCD Soundsystem-bandmate Pat Mahoney (or is it former bandmate?), DFA Records' Shit Robot, and Matthew Dear are all worth checking out. Two-day and single-day passes are on sale in both general admission and VIP price levels. Wavefront says there are more acts TBA, but you can check out its current lineup below...
