Pitchfork Music Festival 2012 (more by James Richards IV)

As discussed, Pitchfork Music Festival 2013 is set to take place in Union Park from July 19-21. The festival's initial lineup featured R. Kelly, Björk, Belle & Sebastian, Joanna Newsom, the Breeders (playing Last Splash), Swans, Rustie, El-P, Chairlift, Killer Mike, TNGHT, Sky Ferreira, ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Mac DeMarco, Foxygen, Angel Olsen, Trash Talk, and Tree.

The remainder of the lineup has just been revealed, and includes M.I.A., Lil B, Solange, Wire, Yo La Tengo, Low, Savages, Toro Y Moi, Phosphorescent, Metz, Autre Ne Veut, Mikal Cronin, Parquet Courts, Merchandise, Woods, Julia Holter, Glass Candy, Andy Stott, Pissed Jeans, Frankie Rose, Ryan Hemsworth, Waxahatchee, Blood Orange, Daughn Gibson, Evian Christ, White Lung, KEN Mode, and DJ Rashad.

Three-day passes and single-day tickets are still available.

The Babies at Schubas on 11.18.2012

A large-scale pot operation on a South Side farm came to a screeching halt yesterday, when police spotted the roughly 200-yard plot from a helicopter.

Woods @ Storm King Art Center in May (New York) (more by Jessica Amaya)

As seen on BrooklynVegan, Woods are slated to welcome their new album, Bend Beyond, on September 18 via their own Woodsist label. You can take a listen to the album tracks "Cali in a Cup" "Size Meets the Sound" at the bottom of this post. Bend Beyond's cover art and tracklist are also below. Woods will support Bend Beyond with a fall international tour. That tour visits Chicago on October 4 for a show at Subterranean, with support from Purling Hiss. Advance tickets are on sale.

In related news, the Babies-- a band which features Woods bassist Kevin Morby and the Vivian Girls' Cassie Ramone-- are set to release their second album, Our House on the Hill, on November 13 via Woodsist. Check out the album track "Moonlight Mile" below.

Weird Vives

As discussed in detail over at BrooklynVegan when it debuted, MTV has a new web-only show called "Weird Vibes". The second episode was just released. Filmed entirely at this year's Pitchfork Festival, it includes "interviews and funny stuff with Twin Shadow, Twin Sister, Health, Woods, Real Estate, Kurt Vile etc and music videos from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Big Troubles, Beat Connection, SBTRKT, Blood Orange, Jonti, Zoo Kid and more." "As previously announced, the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival will be taking place on Friday, July 15th through Sunday, July 17th at Chicago's Union Park! Tickets went on sale on March 4th, and sold out in a record time of 24 hours! That being said, single-day passes can still be picked up at the rate of $45 per day.
Friday will see the addition of Guided By Voices and Neko Case; Saturday's lineup will feature No Age, Gang Gang Dance, G-Side, and Chrissy Murderbot; Sunday's stellar lineup now includes The Fresh & Onlys, Radio Dept., HEALTH, Shabazz Palaces, Baths, How To Dress Well, Kurt Vile, and Twin Sister. Stay tuned for more bands still to be announced in the coming weeks!"
