Chicano Batman releasing 'Black Lipstick' 7" (stream the new b-side), on tour

LA-based Latino rock band Chicano Batman, who you may have seen on tour with Jack White last year, are in the midst of some dates of their own. They play San Antonio tonight (4/28) and then hit Austin’s Levitation this weekend. (If you’re not going, you can stream their set live in 360-degree video.) Later this year they’ll play Bonnaroo, NJ’s XPoNential Music Fest (the day two show at BB&T Pavilion with Alabama Shakes and Gary Clark Jr), and more. All dates are listed below.

Next week (5/6) they’re releasing a 7″ called Black Lipstick (pre-order). The title track has been out for a bit, but we’re now premiering the b-side, “Please Don’t Leave Me.” Both are kinda-psychedelic rock songs, and the band’s Latin rock influences come through clear on the rhythms of “Please Don’t Leave Me.” Listen to the new song, and watch the new video for the title track, below.

UPDATE (5/10): Chicano Batman have expanded their tour, including a NYC show at Bowery Ballroom (7/30) a week after XPoNential Music Fest. That show is with 79.5 and The Shacks. Tickets go on sale May 13 at noon with an AmEx presale starting May 11 at noon. Updated dates are listed below.
