Chris Farren, one half of the band Antarctigo Vespucci (with Jeff Rosenstock), has put together a list of his top 10 albums of 2018, along with an introduction paragraph. Take it away, Chris…

2018 was an incredible year for music. Some real great surprises from new and old artists alike. Pop, rock, hip hop, jazz – you name it, there were releases from almost every genre this year. My favorite way to listen to music is with headphones on. My second favorite way is with a different, slightly less expensive but sleeker pair of headphones. Third? I’m going to have to go with big speakers. My friends think I’m absolutely crazy, but I love the sound of recorded music through big speakers. My fourth favorite way to listen to music is on my laptop speakers. It’s retro, it’s vintage, and I feel beautiful when I do it.

2018 was also a great year for Bluetooth technology. On January 1st 2018, I sold all of my cords on Craigslist. As my head thrashes back and forth unencumbered by wire, I am finally free.

Here are my favorite records of 2018.
