Christopher Owens’ new band Curls preps debut (listen), playing shows
Onetime Girls frontman Christopher Owens was working on his next solo record when he started playing with Cody Rhodes and Luke Baće. They clicked and Curls was born. The band’s debut EP, Vante, is out November 7 via Urban Scandal Records. They’ve shared first single “Emotion” which follows in the “Sweet Jane” and “Crimson and Clover” tradition of using those chords in that order. Like those, it’s pretty catchy and you can listen below.
Curls have a few West Coast dates, including a few California shows opening up for Cults (and one with Deerhunter and Battles).
Christopher Owens also has two solo shows at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on October 4 & 6. Tickets for the Union Pool shows are on sale now.
