Chromatics @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Chromatics were in town this past weekend, opening for Hot Chip on Friday (7/20) and playing a headlining show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Sunday (7/22). I caught their T5 set — my first time seeing the group — and they were more engaging than I thought they were going to be, with a live drummer keeping things banging. I like their new album just fine but to this point, though, Chromatics don’t so much make music to dance to as music to melancholically bob your head to. Kill for Love‘s “Lady” and the Survivor-esque “These Streets Will Never Look the Same” came closest to getting the crowd moving. Pictures from the Brooklyn show are in this post.
