There’s still no sign of the long-delayed Dear Tommy, which was originally due out in 2015, but Chromatics released a new single back in February, and they embarked on their first tour in five years in April. That tour hit Brooklyn Steel on Monday night (5/20) for the first of two shows, where Chromatics delivered dreamy, romantic vibes under moody lighting. Along with songs from 2012’s Kill for Love, 2007’s Night Drive, and their EPs, they played their newest single and a handful of covers: Neil Young’s “Into the Black,” Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire,” and Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God).” Find a video clip of “I’m on Fire” below, along with a few other clips, and the setlist from Monday night’s show.

Chromatics’ Johnny Jewel is doing double duty on this tour, also appearing with opening act Desire (who you may have heard on the Drive soundtrack) alongside Megan Louise. Their set included a cover of New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle.” Check out pictures of the whole night, including fellow Italians Do It Better acts In Mirrors and Tess Roby‘s opening sets, and between-set DJ Justine D., below.

Chromatics play Brooklyn Steel again tonight with Desire, In Mirrors and a DJ set from Holy Ghost! Tickets are currently sold out.
