Your Loss

Chumped & Elway members formed Your Loss, announce debut LP (stream two tracks)

While Chumped are sadly no more and half the band is now in Katie Ellen, another member (guitarist Drew Johnson) formed Your Loss. Drew relocated to Colorado for this band, and teamed up with Brian Van Proyen and Tim Browne of Elway, the latter of whom sings lead. (There’s also a fourth member, Miles.)

The band’s debut album, Midlife Crisis Tropical Vacation, is due out May 6 via Anchorless Records (the same label Chumped was on), and so far two songs are out, the title track (via Noisey) and “Binary Stars.” If you like Chumped and/or Elway, you’re probably gonna like this too. It’s melodic punk that’s raw, driving, and full of big (and often throat-shredding) hooks. Listen to both tracks below.

The band just played their first show last night (4/12) in Denver with The Smith Street Band, Hard Girls and Lee Corey Oswald. Did anyone who lives out there catch the gig?
