Cinemechanica

Cinemechanica released first LP in 10 years (listen), touring in October

Athens, GA group Cinemechanica last released new music back in 2006. Trafficking in a kind of math-y post-hardcore similar to the likes of Don Caballero or Drive Like Jehu, the band just put out their second album produced by Converge’s Kurt Ballou, their first in 10 years. It’s excellent, a bracing and heavy mix of sounds that should appeal to fans of the above bands (not to mention Shellac, The Jesus Lizard, you know the vibe…). That album is out officially on September 23 via Arrowhawk records, and you can pre-order it now.

Meanwhile, Cinemechanica are playing shows around this new release. Among those will be a stop in NYC where they’ll play Saint Vitus on October 16 with support from Bambara, Dead Tenants and Geometers. Tickets for that are on sale now.
