Coachella

The 2009 Coachella music festival kicks off today in Indio, California. You can check out the set times at their site. I’m personally drooling over Sunday (a bit of which you can see above).

Highlights of today (4/17) include Leonard Cohen, Paul McCartney, Morrissey, Beirut, The Black Keys, Genghis Tron, Girl Talk, Patton & Rahzel, The Hold Steady, The Bug, and A Place to Bury Strangers.

You can watch some of the performances online (Macca & Moz included).

Etienne De Crecy plays Sunday, and in NYC tonight. Throbbing Gristle plays Sunday, and in NYC tonight.

Antony‘s Sunday performance will be a collaboration with “avant-garde composer and electronics wiz” Matthew Herbert. “The duo will present stark electronic re-imaginings of songs from Antony and the Johnsons’ new album ‘The Crying Light'” That one unfortunately will not be streaming.
