Coachella weekend 2 camping delayed due to wind, DoLab damaged

Weekend one of Coachella was preceded by some high winds, and the forecast has only gotten more threatening for weekend two – so much so, that entrance to camping has been delayed. Coachella posted an update about onsite camping for weekend two:

The National Weather Service has issued a severe high wind warning beginning Thursday morning lasting through early morning Friday.

Opening of camping is delayed. For everyone’s safety camping will now OPEN on FRIDAY, April 20th at 3am (pending safe conditions).

It is strongly encouraged that you delay your arrival until after weather has passed.

Please be aware you may experience high wait times, staging time in your cars and we will not be able to accommodate wait together, camp together. ABSOLUTELY no campsite set ups, no tent canopies or pop-up tents will be allowed to be put up until high wind has passed.
Yes this includes all onsite camping. Car, Tent, Lake Eldorado & Safari.

Follow push notification alerts from the Coachella Mobile App for the most up to date information.

Meanwhile, it seems the winds already did some damage to the festival grounds – the picture above is of the DoLab’s tent, after reportedly being hit with 90 MPH winds. Thursday morning’s winds are supposed to be the strongest, and they’re thankfully due to diminish by nightfall, in time for campers to arrive. However, it’s also going to be really hot, with temperatures forecasted to top out at just over 100 degrees on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Stay hydrated out there!

The Coachella weekend two set times are live, and you can also revisit our coverage of weekend one: Friday HERE, Saturday HERE, and Sunday HERE. Beyonce’s Saturday headlining set was epic, and on Sunday Dr. Dre and 50-Cent joined Eminem onstage. We also caught St. Vincent, Perfume Genius, Cardi B, and more – including Migos’ set, which left some people disappointed. This Saturday night, you’ll be able to catch Marilyn Manson when he joins X-Japan onstage.
