Cold Beat release new LP & “In Motion” video, playing Ceremony residency in L.A.

Cold Beat‘s third album, Chaos by Invitation, is out today via main member Hannah Lew’s Crime on the Moon label. Lew, who made this record almost entirely on her own, warms up Cold Beat’s sound a little this time without sacrificing any of the first two albums’ edge. Melody is more to the fore, with more synths this time around. It’s a lovely record and you can stream the whole thing, and watch the video for the gorgeous “In Motion,” below.

The band will play a record release show at San Francisco’s Starlight Social Club on April 28. They’ll also play as part of Ceremony‘s three day retrospective residency at Los Angeles’ The Echo on May 18 – 20 which also features performances by Antwon, The Coltranes, Leisure World, Sabertooth Zombie, and The World, as well as DJ sets by Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino, Tamaryn, and more. Cold Beat play the final day (5/20) with Initiate and DJ Rob Moran. Tickets for those Ceremony residency shows are on sale. Flyer for the record release show and the Ceremony residency are below.
