Coldplay & Peter Buck, Nada Surf's Matthew Caws cover Tom Petty in tribute
Following the sad news of Tom Petty‘s death, many fellow artists have taken to social media to pay tribute to the rock legend. Others are honoring his memory by performing covers of his songs. Coldplay started their Monday (10/2) night show at Portland, OR’s Moda Center by holding a moment of silence for Tom, then bringing out Peter Buck of R.E.M. to cover the classic “Free Fallin.”
Meanwhile, Matthew Caws of Nada Surf also shared a cover of “Learning to Fly” to Facebook. Watch videos of both of those below.
