Coldplay playing 2 intimate LA shows & a CA festival

Coldplay have yet to tour in support of their November double album Everyday Life; as frontman Chris Martin told BBC News, the band’s touring plans are on hold until they can figure out how to make the venture carbon neutral. They are playing a trio of shows in California this month, though, starting off with iHeartRadio’s ALTer EGO at The Forum on January 18, where they’ll join Billie Eilish, The Black Keys, blink-182, and others. Next they head to Los Angeles for back-to-back nights of intimate shows at Hollywood Palladium on January 20 and 21. The newly announced 1/20 show is a benefit for Reform LA Jails, and it’ll also include sets from Boogie and Bobby Gonz, and guest speakers Patrisse Cullors and America Ferrera. Tickets go on sale Friday 1/17 at 10 AM PT, and you can register for access through Ticketmaster Verified Fan now through Wednesday 1/15 at 10 PM.

Coldplay’s other Hollywood Palladium show is part of the pre-Grammys concert series Citi Sound Vault, and proceeds go to A New Way of Live. That organization’s founder, Susan Burton, and Natalie Portman will appear as guest speakers, and tickets are sold out.
