Colin Kaepernick denies consulting with Travis Scott about Super Bowl Halftime Show

It was recently announced that Travis Scott and Big Boi would be joining Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and they were met with some criticism for the decision to play, due to the NFL blackballing Colin Kaepernick for protesting against racial injustice during the national anthem. A “source close to” Travis Scott told Variety that Travis had a conversation with Colin Kaepernick about his performance, and that “while the two did not necessarily agree, they emerged from the conversation with mutual respect and understanding, with the rapper taking the stance that everyone makes a statement in their own way and he felt that the money going toward Dream Corps, combined with the platform provided by the Super Bowl, will do some good.”

It appears that Colin Kaepernick denies this report. Radio/TV personality Nessa (who’s dating Kaepernick) tweeted “There is NO mutual respect and there is NO understanding for anyone working against @Kaepernick7 PERIOD. #stoplying” and Kaepernick retweeted it, along with a tweet from Hot 97 and Beats 1’s Ebro Darden, who wrote “Kap did not approve this bullshit! Get the fuck outta here….”

Travis Scott has not yet replied. See the tweets below…
