Complex’s Top Albums of 2016

Complex 2016

Complex have published their 50 Best Albums of 2016 list. As usual, it’s cool list with a heavier emphasis on rap/R&B than your average non-genre-specific list. There’s “indie rock” representation from Mitski and Angel Olsen, and more rock from the late David Bowie and from The 1975 (who topped NME’s album list and also made Rolling Stone’s album list and NPR’s song list). Both Frank Ocean albums are on there, two Young Thug albums (or mixtapes or whatever) are on there, it’s yet another list to have Beyonce at #1, and it might be the only list I’ve seen with Baauer.
