Conor Oberst streaming new solo album, 'Ruminations,' playing small release show

After getting back with his punk band Desaparecidos for a killer album last year, Conor Oberst is re-focusing on his solo career, and releases the new album Ruminations on October 14 via Nonesuch. It’s a much more stripped-down album than Conor’s recent solo material (and more than recent Bright Eyes and of course more than Desaparecidos), and it should please longtime fans who miss the rawer, intimate music of his earlier days. It should also please fans of Dylanesque harmonica. You can stream the whole thing now, via NPR.

Conor is also playing an NPR First Listen Live show at NYC’s Housing Works on October 14 at 8 PM. To get in, you have to try to win tickets by emailing [email protected] by Monday, October 10.

After that, Conor tours, including a show at NYC’s Carnegie Hall on November 23.
