Converge releasing new EP tomorrow

Around the time Converge released their great 2017 album The Dusk In Us, guitarist Kurt Ballou revealed that the band had four more songs from the sessions that were going to be released at some point, possibly as b-sides, possibly as an EP. Now, it looks like the band is planning to surprise-release those four songs as an EP tomorrow (Friday, 6/29). As The PRP points out, due to the enemy of surprise releases, time zones, the details on the EP appear to have surfaced via a Japanese retailer. The EP is called Beautiful Ruin and you can hear samples of each song here. Artwork (which was teased on Converge’s Instagram) and tracklist below. Stay tuned for more concrete info.

UPDATE: It’s out!

Converge have West Coast tour dates with Neurosis and Amenra coming up soon. Earlier this year, Converge’s Ben Koller drummed on The Armed’s new LP, which was produced by Kurt Ballou (who may or may not have started the band in the first place).
