Courtney Barnett streaming new album, played 'Ellen' (watch)

Australia’s Courtney Barnett is a week away from releasing her new album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit (due 3/24 via Mom + Pop), and she’s now made the whole thing available to stream on iTunes Radio. Like early singles and recent live shows suggested, a lot of the album rocks a little harder than her folk rock beginnings, but it does have its softer parts too. Check it out.

Courtney Barnett is in Austin this week for SXSW, where she has a bunch of shows coming including Pitchfork, NPR, Floodfest and more. Anyone catch her at the Onion/AV Club party yesterday (3/16)?

Two months after SXSW, Courtney’s tour with Chastity Belt and Darren Hanlon comes to NYC for sold-out shows at Bowery Ballroom on May 19, 20 and 21.

Courtney also played one of the new album’s singles, “Depreston,” on Ellen yesterday. Watch video of that below…
