Craig Wedren & Anna Waronker scored Hulu's 'Shrill' (Season 2 out today)

Season 2 of Aidy Bryant‘s terrific series Shrill is out today via Hulu and, like the first season, it was scored by Shudder to Think’s Craig Wedren and that dog.’s Anna Waronker. If you haven’t watched the show, it’s based on Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman by Lindy West, who co-created the series with Bryant and Alexandra Rushfield (Parks and Recreation). Aidy plays Annie, a fictionalized version of West who is “a fat young woman who wants to change her life — but not her body.” The series also features former SNL cast member Julia Sweeney as Annie’s mom, as well as Hedwig creator John Cameron Mitchell, Lolly Adefope and Jo Firestone. Carrie Brownstein directed a S1 episode, and Natasha Lyonne directed one of the S2 episodes. Watch the trailer, and find a playlist of songs from the show (Courtney Barnett, Angel Olsen, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Little Dragon, more) below.

Craig Wedren stays busy as a composer these days, and also currently does the score for NBC’s New Amsterdam, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, and worked on HBO’s 2019 limited series Mrs. Fletcher, among many other projects. Craig’s also creating a podcast, Sabbath Sessions, which is an extension of the meditation events he’s been putting on since 2014.
