Boss Hog lept back into action 2016, releasing their first new record in 16 years which didn’t miss a beat. If you haven’t checked that out, listen to “Wichita Grey” below. Look out for their new full-length, Brood X, in March.

Like a lot of artists, 2016 has also been a politically charged one. When we asked Boss Hog for a Top 10 list, singer Cristina Martinez offered up a protest-oriented one — Top 10 Cute Animals — saying, “Look at these guys. they’re so cute! They feel no pain. Blissfully fucking ignorant. God bless ‘em. Clearly I haven’t managed to get past even initial (denial) stage of grief since the election.” Check out her list, with crucial commentary, in the gallery above.

The band, which of course also features Jon Spencer, have a few European dates lined up for February 2017 and those are listed, along with the recent New York Daily News cover she happened to be on (protesting) below.
