Cullen Omori streaming debut LP; North American tour canceled

Former Smith Westerns singer Cullen Omori releases his solo debut, New Misery on Friday (3/18) but you can listen to the whole thing right now (via Stereogum). Check it out below.

Cullen is in Austin, TX this week for SXSW which is the start of his spring tour, most of which is with Living Hour. The NYC show, which was originally set for Bowery Ballroom on April 22, has been moved to Rough Trade (still on 4/22).

UPDATE (4/13): Cullen’s North American tour has been canceled, as he announced on Facebook:

Unfortunately the “Sad Guy No More” tour is no longer happening in the US. Some unforeseeable things happened and I’m just as sad as everyone else. One the bright side, I will be traveling to the UK for some dates very soon! Will share those with you all in the next day or so.

Cullen’s hometown Chicago show at Schuba’s on June 2 is still happening, though.

Meanwhile, his former bandmates Julien Ehrlich and Max Kakacek are also at SXSW this week with their new band Whitney and their shows include BrooklynVegan’s free Friday day party at Cheer Up Charlies (RSVP). All Whitney SXSW dates are listed below.
