Cults streaming new LP, playing intimate free CMJ show before tour w/ Mood Rings who dropped off Cymbals Eat Guitars tour

Cults

Poppy NYC duo Cults are set to go on a fall tour that includes a hometown show on November 26 at Webster Hall (tickets), but sooner than that you can catch them at a much smaller show.

During CMJ, they’ll headline a Conflict of Interest party at Brooklyn Bowl on October 15 with special guests TBA. It’s a free show, as long as you either have a CMJ badge, or if you RSVP.

Cults’ new album, Static, comes out the day of the Brooklyn Bowl show via Columbia, and you can now stream it in full on NPR. Updated dates are listed, along with the video for its track “High Road,” below.

Since we last spoke, Atlanta dream pop band Mood Rings (whose debut LP, VPI Harmony, came out this year via Mexican Summer) were added, along with SACCO, as openers to Cults tour, including the Webster Hall show. This also means Mood Rings have dropped off the Cymbals Eat Guitars tour, which they were supposed to be on. That tour still hits NYC without Mood Rings on 11/23 at Knitting Factory with Grooms and Daniel James taking their place (tickets).

Mood Rings aren’t on Cults’ Brooklyn Bowl show, but they do have their own CMJ shows scheduled, including the Carpark/Mexican Summer/Kanine showcase at Cameo (10/16) with Eternal Summers, TEEN, Quilt, Bleeding Rainbow, and Happy Jawbone (tickets); the unofficial Newtown Radio party at Shea (10/16) with Canadian rapper Young Braised, plus Christines, Calvin Love, and Rose Quartz DJs; and a free show at Ace Hotel (10/17).

All Mood Rings dates are listed, along with the list of Cults dates and that video, below…
