Cursive played 3 NYC-area shows (pics of Irving, video of NJ with 11 y/o on drums)

Cursive are on tour now with Chicago garage punks Meat Wave and Chicago indie rockers Campdogzz (who are signed to Cursive’s 15 Passenger label) supporting their new album Vitriola, their first album with original drummer Clint Schnase and longtime co-producer Mike Mogis since 2006’s Happy Hollow. They just brought that tour to the NYC-area for shows at Asbury Park’s Stone Pony on Sunday (11/4), Long Island’s Amityville Music Hall on Tuesday (11/6), and Manhattan’s Irving Plaza last night (11/7). They played half the new album, plus plenty of faves from Clint’s initial run with the band, including “A Gentleman Caller,” “Art Is Hard,” “The Recluse,” “Big Bang,” “Dorothy Dreams of Tornados,” “The Martyr,” “Sink to the Beat,” “The Rhyme Scheme,” and more.

At the Stone Pony show, they had a special guest 11-year-old drummer named Dylan join them for “Sink to the Beat.” Watch that and check out the Amityville setlist below. Pictures of Cursive and Meat Wave the Irving Plaza show are in the gallery above (we unfortunately missed Campdogzz).
