Cut Copy

Cut Copy share new song & album details, announce 2017 tour

Aussie electronic group Cut Copy have announced the release of their fifth studio album, titled Haiku From Zero. It’s due out on September 22 via Astralwerks (preorder). Singer Dan Whitford described the inspiration behind the new record:

So much of this album is about this mosaic of information, images that we’re surrounded by on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes it feels like overload, but there’s a weird random beauty in it. The idea of squeezing poetry from chaos was where the title of the album came from – the idea of finding something poetic in the overload.

The band has also unveiled the album’s second single, “Standing in the Middle of the Field,” which features a bouncy, tropical instrumental underneath Whitford’s airy vocals. Stream the new track below, as well as previous single “Airborne.”

Cut Copy have expanded their North American tour, which now includes a date at NYC’s Terminal 5 on November 24. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (8/11) at noon. All dates are listed below.
