Dalek list their top 10 albums of 2016, playing NYC tonight
NYC experimental rap group dälek returned this year with their first album since hiatus, Asphalt For Eden (released on Profound Lore), an excellent album which picks up right where they left off. dälek were ahead of their time, but with the popularity of Yeezus, Death Grips, and Run the Jewels, it feels like the world is finally catching up with them. If you like that stuff but haven’t heard Asphalt For Eden, you should change that by streaming it below.
dälek played their hometown a number of times this year, and they’ll do so once more before the holidays tonight (12/22) at The Studio at Webster Hall. The show is with Antipop Consortium’s Hprizm, avant-rockers Netherlands, and DJ/producer John Morrison. Tickets are still on sale.
John Morrison’s Southwest Psychedelphia was one of dälek’s top 10 albums of 2016. They published a list which is mostly a mix of hip hop and metal, plus other musical boundary-pushers like Radiohead and Bowie. Check out their whole list and stream Southwest Psychedelphia below.
